Five Great Reasons To Work With Me

Over this week I will be sharing the most likely reasons you would decide to work with me in my one-on-one practice. The applications of this Method are practically endless, but I will narrow it to now a few situations I feel comfortable to support you in right now !

1) The reason number one you might decide to work with me is because you care for a child with special needs

✅ I will work with both, you and your child, to support the most efficient working of your nervous systems.
✅ I am on this journey myself and I explored many ways to support a child whose brain is functioning in a different way.
✅ I will guide you if needed, I will cry and laugh with you,
✅ I will teach you how to use touch so that every time you interact with your child you help them sense themselves.
✅ Movement is the clearest indication of the brain function, and by improving movement we improve the whole being.

Because working with children is my primary interest and I want to learn a lot, your first one-hour consultation involves only a small charge ($10), and we will make sure that the further payments are affordable.

2. The reason number two you might want to work with me in one-on-one situation is .. being a MUM

You start being one carrying your child within and postpartum is really the rest of your post-childbirth life. And mums need to be cared for !

✅ I will help you become more comfortable with not-always-so-comfortable changes.
✅ It's never too late or too early to enhance your pelvic awareness and start taking care of your pelvic floor.
✅ I will share with your everything I wish I knew before I had my three children.
✅ If your baby is under 6 weeks I can come to see you at your place, because your job is to rest and connect.

I offer a combined pregnancy/postpartum care package as well, it will make an awesome baby shower gift 🎁🎁🎁 !

3. Another situation I think I can be helpful is when you're dealing with chronic pain

Chronic diseases can be all-consuming, and your life may seem to be revolving around a deasease / treatment / limitation.

There might be various reasons for that and most probably you have already explored some ways to find support. You want to understand better what's going and how you could contribute yourself to make your pain fade away.

Beacuse it is the brain that is one of the major factors driving the chronic pain, the Feldenkrais Method can help you to harness that brain power for good.

✅ I am very interested in the neuroscience of pain and I know there are many factors in play
✅ I will help you to get educated and empowered to tame your pain
✅ I will show you how you can move safely and knowing what your comfortable range is. Movement is critical for getting better
✅ I won't be able to "fix" or cure you, but I will help you to re-connect with youself and change your relationships with pain, as well as to make choices possible again

I am interested in working with you and I want you to have access to a number of sessions because we need time.

4. Injuries prevention

"The best athletes, the best dancers, the best martial artists and yogis are not just those who are the strongest, fastest or more flexible. The best are those with the highest quality of movement, the best coordination, the best organization of the body". Todd Hargrove, A Guide to Better Movement

✅ If your practice is putting your body under a big amount of mechanical stress, it's the efficacy of movement that will help you avoid injury by minimizing and distributing such stress
✅ It is your nervous system, your brain (and not just your muscular power) that has control over perceptions (feedback on the accuracy of the movement you are able to perceive) and thus your ability to refine the movement
✅ I can help you to bring more awareness into what you're doing, to explore your habits and create new options to get your movement easier, freer and better organized for creating more power with precision
✅ We will use sensing, developmental patterns and play to engage your nervous system. Work smarter, not harder.

Whether you're an athlete / dancer / martial artist / yogi or a casual runner, we can find ways to make your practice more enjoyable so that you can continue doing what you love for longer and with less interruptions.

(Please don't book any session just before an important performance as your nervous system might need time to accommodate changes !)

5. One of my favourite topics: a good posture !

What does it mean ? Is it the way you look ? Is it how "straight" is your spine ? Is it the amount of effort you put into your muscles training ?

From my perspective, none of those. Moshe Feldenkrais even coined another word that describes better what we have to look for: he called it an ACTURE. And he called it the world's best kept secret.

✅ "Posture relates to an action and not to the maintenance of any given position" (Moshe Feldenkrais)
✅ Therefore there is nothing static about a good "posture" as it is about your ability to move in any direction with minimal preparation
✅ Don't spend your energy on trying to hold yourself in any way you think you "should". Instead learn what is the unnecessary work that you do in your muscles that you could let go of
✅ Your "posture" is a product of your nervous system and your beliefs; every emotional state you experience is reflected in your muscular contraction patterns - before even you notice your state or give it a name
✅ I can help you to feel supported in a way that your nervous system will become more balanced in its sympathetic/parasympathetic response, and your muscular system will not have to work as hard to keep you upright
✅ We will also look into the daily positions and movements you create for yourself (in sleeping, sitting, standing, lifting and carrying ...) so that you learn how to find more comfort in your daily life, and possibly avoid pain and reduce stress.

Enjoy your acture today ;)
