Imagine a safe pregnancy movement programme that doesn’t require any equipment and teaches you to use and move your changing body more intelligently, effectively and efficiently.
Imagine that during this programme you also explore the repertoire of movements and positions you will benefit from on the day of delivery.
THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS
when you do Movement for Pregnancy & Labour with Alina:
a 6 weeks programme running regularly throughout the year at River Ridge East Birth Centre (Hamilton East).
WHEN: Tuesdays 10:45 am - 12 pm, check Events to find the next block course dates
WHERE: River Ridge East Birth Centre, 35 Te Puutikitiki, Hamilton East
COST: $130 for the whole 6-week course, including audio recordings of the movement lessons.
Mats, balls, cushions and blankets are provided.
You will be guided by Alina Komnatnaya, a certified Feldenkrais® practitioner, member of the Feldenkrais® Guild NZ, pain educator and a mum of three.
This programme will help you make your pregnancy and childbirth easier, because:
You will move with awareness and adapt your movement to your needs
You will be able to release the unnecessary effort
You will know how to listen to your body
You will have experience with positions and movements, often unusual, that women tend to choose at each stage of delivery
You will know how to protect your pelvic floor
You will understand how pain works so that you have more and better strategies to cope with it.
All you need is 70 min a week
and help to focus on gentle movements that allow you to reduce the pain and discomfort, lower stress and increase your energy throughout your entire pregnancy.
Is it suitable for me?
This programme is for pregnant women in any stage of their pregnancy and any shape or condition. Movement explorations you will do are completely safe for you and your baby and gentle so that you don’t strain your joints and muscles.

Week 1 - Meet your adaptable pelvis. Rolling like a baby
Week 2 - Pelvic openings: your baby's journey. Pelvic mobility, Pelvic floor in sitting
Week 3 - Meet your powerful team: Perineum / Diaphragm. Move your rib basket
Week 4 - Star labour positions. Moving on all four
Week 5 - Using the ball for movement. Pain in labour and the best ways to approach it
Week 6 - It's all about the hip joints. Vocalising for your pelvic floor and perineum: in birth and beyond.
