You're stuck at home ...

You’re stuck at home,
stuck in your skin,
stuck in your bones.

One-on-one with your inner scaffolding,
watching the world’s maelstrom unfolding.
Unable to hurry through your city’s toxicity,
you busy yourself with things of simplicity:

Children to care for, meals to prepare,
a ride to the supermarket is your heroic affair.

Sit, lay still for a moment …
Observe, get aware …
Awareness is a medicine they say,
but who’d really care?
This pill can be bitter and not easy to swallow,
but once your habits are spotted, you can choose to un-follow.

Habits to move, to think, to react.
Notice that moment where you can enact
your inner ability to sense and make choices
without worrying about all these outside voices.

Then a moment will come where you’ll find within
the support that you need, in your bones, in your skin;
where you’ll re-learn to use yourself in the gravity
to create the most simple movement of sheer clarity.

No useless hurrying, but a quiet unknown
that holds your true self, in your skin and your bones.
And with that simple quietness you’ll go and create
A much better world, one you don’t want to escape.
