Three Births, Three Countries, One Stroke and a Wealth of Healing

Recently I had to reflect on my journey to where I am and what I do and be reminded of my why's as your Feldenkrais® practitioner. I got together with Carla Sargent from Healing Birth to talk about my birthing journey and choices, eventful initiation to motherhood and what it took to heal from it.

But this story is also about my relationship with figures of authority - including healthcare authorities -, losing my self-agency and finding it again, and using a somatic approach for healing that I didn't know I needed.

As you know, my passion now is supporting women at different life stages and during various transitions. I think you can relate this to mothering journeys, but I also believe you can translate my personal experience to the one of persistent pain and what is now known to be essential on the pain-healing journey:

  • change of relationship with trauma/pain,

  • learning about the role of the nervous system,

  • finding or maintaining self-agency and

  • using body-mind integrative approaches.

Anyway, if you'd love to understand better why I do what I do and what I stand for, have a listen and let me know what you think: podcast on Spotify or look for “Healing Birth with Carla + Alina” on any platform you get your podcasts from.
